a creative short that expresses the pitfalls one faces when coming up with new ideas
ARTIST STATEMENT
Feeling inadequate is something many of us deal with from time to time whether we choose to admit it or not. At no other moment do these intrusive thoughts reveal themselves more than when we’re alone.
The process of coming up with ideas can be very lonely and isolating. And sometimes while we’re deep in thought, our mind wanders right into our anxieties. We then look for distractions and avoid sitting through that pain at any cost.
I feel like personal growth hinges on new ideas and that there is a lot of power in sharing those ideas with others. So, we must be prepared to confront some of those negative thoughts and not be so quick to interrupt the time we spend thinking for ourselves, even though the outcome may or may not spark inspiration. The reward of self-growth is worth it. These are some of the thoughts I’ve had during the process of making this film.
